Penumbra is a top-down wide crescent shawlette that is shaped with short rows. The short-rowed sides are worked in garter stitch, while the center back features a stockinette panel of elegant beaded lace that is worked at the same time as the garter stitch sides. Following the short row section, the areas of garter stitch flow into a textured lace pattern which then morphs into a dramatic beaded border. Beads are placed using the crochet hook add-as-you-go method.
