The Periwinkle Crochet Egg Cosy is quick to make – you may be able to complete more than one of these cute egg cosies in an evening, once you get the hang of it. I think it’s not too complicated a pattern, but have added photos to one set of instructions to help along the way…
It makes a fab little gift or something to help with lymphoma awareness or fundraising for the Lymphoma Association: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/LymphomaLass
You’ll just need a few metres/yards of each yarn - just a fraction of each ball - for each brooch.
I have used:
ch – chain
ss – slip stitches
dc – double crochet (in USA: sc – single crochet)
dc2tog – double crochet 2 stitches together (in USA: sc2tog – single crochet 2 stitches together
htr – half treble crochet (in USA: hdc – half double crochet
tr – treble crochet (in USA: dc – double crochet)
dtr – double treble crochet (in USA: tr – triple crochet)
trtr – triple treble crochet (in USA: dtr - double triple crochet)
Guage/tension is not critical to this pattern. If your tension is too tight and your egg cosy is too small, use a larger hook size. If your tension is relaxed, you’ll get a looser fitting egg cosy, so use a smaller hook.
The Lymphoma Association have a Crochet for Cancer project at: https://www.lymphomas.org.uk/get-involved/raise-awareness... , and are asking you to share photos of your brilliant makes in aid of lymphoma awareness. On social media please use #lymphomalass and #lymphomaaware .
