The Periwinkle Flower Knitted Brooch is quick to make – you may be able to complete several of these cute flower brooches in an evening, once you get the hang of it. I think it’s not too complicated a pattern, but have added photos to one set of instructions to help along the way…

It makes a fab little gift or something to help with lymphoma awareness or fundraising for the Lymphoma Association: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/LymphomaLass

You’ll just need a few metres/yards of each yarn - just a fraction of each ball - for each brooch.

I have used:
k – knit
p – purl
k2tog – knit 2 together
p2tog – purl 2 together
k incr – knitting into both front and then back of the stitch, increase by 1 knit stitch

You’ll also need to sew a brooch back (or safety pin) on the back.

Gauge/tension is not critical to this pattern. If your tension is tight you’ll get a slightly smaller brooch. If your tension is relaxed, your brooch will be slightly larger.

The Lymphoma Association have starting a Crochet for Cancer project at: https://www.lymphomas.org.uk/get-involved/my-fundraising/…, featuring this brooch in crochet and asking you to share photos of your brilliant brooches. I’m sure they’d love to see your knitted brooches!

Most importantly: Enjoy!
