Gauge is not critical for this project.

Construction: The entire length of the edging is knit first, then stitches are picked up all along and knit towards the top in a lace pattern, ending in a ribbed band knit on smaller needles to create a curved shape.

On row two, you have to k1 AND p1 into the second yarn over from row 1.

Row 1: k1, k2tog, yo, k2, yo, k1 (7 sts)
Row 2: k1, (k1, p1) into yo from row below, p2tog, yo, k3 (8 sts)
Row 3: k5, yo, k2tog, k1 (8 sts)
Row 4: b/o 2 sts (there will be 1 st on RN and 5 sts on LN at this point), p2tog, yo, k3 (6 sts)
