Phaedra’s Shawl is crescent shaped, beginning at top center back and worked down and outward. The shawl begins with a lightly patterned garter stitch, then transitions to a ripple/spoke pattern. Shawl size is easy to customize.

When I was 12 years old, I saw a PBS production of Phaedra, danced by Martha Graham. I was transfixed with astonishment. What I experienced watching this marvel was new and exciting in a way I didn’t really understand. But I knew this was important. There was an astounding world filled with wonders outside of my rural hometown! Phaedra’s Shawl is my small tribute to the great artists who transform our world by opening new vistas of feeling and understanding.
