This pattern is based on a design originally published in the 1940s as a Carriage Cover. The original design was made using silky thread with a tiny #9 (1.40 mm) steel crochet hook and was made up of more than three times the number of motifs used in this one to produce a blanket of the same size!

Blanket is made up of motifs, which are joined as worked. Size of blanket can easily be adjusted by adding or omitting motifs and/or using a lighter or heavier yarn.
