Here are 10 patterns for hats resembling various fruits and vegetables. A brief background to the idea: The kids said something about wearing an apple on their head after watching Robin Hood. Thus this entire concept came from a preschooler who watched too much tv and turned it into a game of who knew the most fruit and vegetables. Here are some of the ones they’ve came up with… plus a pomegranate just for fun.

All fruit are classed as easy and suitable for confident beginners except Pineapple.
Pineapple requires, simple rib, lace, m1 and yo increases, k2tog and k3tog decreases, 3 needle bind off, simple colour changes, knitting in the round and slipping stitches to change the position of the beginning of the round.
It’s not seriously advanced but read the instructions first, then refer to diagram and maybe don’t work the spikes in front of the tv or on the bus if your not a confident knitter… :)
