The leafy branch of the fern is usually called a frond. The small leaflets that make up the whole frond are called pinnae.

With seed stitch accents and fern lace, this sweet princess dress was inspired by nature, fairy tales and vintage children’s clothing. A simple knit that is worked in the round, except for the very upper bodice where you are knitting flat to create the buttoned back fasten,

This gorgeous princess- style dress is knit top down and different needle sizes are used for better fit and to make the fern lace nice and open. Blocking brings the lace patterning out to its full beauty.

There are three sleeve options available: sleeveless, short puff and puff with fitted long sleeves for a true royal appearance.

You will need:

  • 800-1500 yards of worsted weight yarn. NOTE- This is an estimate, you may need more or less! The pattern was drafted using Hobby Lobby I love This Cotton Spark and sz 3/4 took 7 sk.
  • 24” (28” for sizes ¾ & up) US sizes 6, 7, 8 circular needles- sz 6 & 7 DPNS for sleeves
