This pattern is for a festive Christmas Stocking, knit with chunky weight yarn.
The pattern includes instructions for the plain ( solid color ) or fair isle version. Charted instructions are included for the fair isle version.
Christmas Stocking is knit in the round, using size 10 circular needles (16”) and size 10 double pointed needles.
Finished measurements are approximately 13” circumference and 20” length.
Construction is similar to that of a sock - starting at the top cuff, and knit down to the toe. The leg of the stocking is knit on the 16” circular needle. Heel is worked back and forth on circular needle.
Double pointed needles are required for the toe shaping portion of the pattern.
Clear instructions for kitchener stitch are included in the pattern.
Finishing includes an applied i-cord along the top edge, with an i-cord loop for hanging.
This is a fun and quick knit. Required skills include working in the round on circular and double pointed needles.
