This combination sweater & shrug is a riff on a similar garment I purchased at a consignment shop. The simple shape is easy to throw on, and a great foil for the unique stitch pattern. I couldn’t find the lace pattern in a stitch dictionary, so deconstructed it and charted my own. Simple shoulder shaping, and back neck shaping create a sleeve opening that’s not as boxy as a kimono style, and it sits, and stays on your shoulders.

Shrug measures 33” wide, and 19” long. I stitched short side seams to form a sleeve opening, so it fits more like a sweater, but it could also be left open, similar to a ruana.

The size may easily be altered, and notes for adjusting size are included in the pattern instructions. Yardage required may change depending on adjustments in size.

Many thanks to my knitting and spinning friend, Joanne, for providing her patience and time in test knitting, double checking, and suggesting clarifications for this pattern.
