Playing Hooky is worked from the center out using spiral construction (no joined rounds). Two sides are worked in solid dc stitches and the opposite two sides are worked in 3dc granny stitch. Keep working around and around until you run out of yarn or the blanket is large enough. The sample was made with 1,180 yards of a DK weight yarn and a size H crochet hook with a finished (blocked) size of 34” x 35”. About 800 yards should make a small baby blanket and a large blanket may take up to 2,000 yards. This pattern can be made with any weight of yarn by changing the hook size to suit the yarn. The 3 page pattern includes written line-by-line instructions and a crochet chart.
