This is a fun knitting pattern to create felted stuffed animals of a polar bear and cub stuffed. Great for animal lovers or to use as holiday decorations. The cub is a good size for a Christmas tree ornament.

Finished measurements: The finished size will always vary due to gauge, yarn, and amount of felting but with the suggested gauge and yarn Polly will be about 8 inches long, 5 ½ inches tall, and 4 inches wide; the bear cub will be about 4 ½ inches long, 3 inches tall, and 2 inches wide.

This pattern uses short rows, increases (M1 or kfb), decreases (SSK, K2tog), and knitting in the round on DPNs. It is for an intermediate level knitter.

The pattern includes step-by-step photos and instructions on how to felt and add details with embroidery or needle-felting.

You will also need tapestry needles (sharp and blunt); polyfil stuffing; plastic non-coil safety pins; felting needle and wool roving or feltable yarn in a complimentary color or buttons and small sewing needle and thread to add eyes and nose.
