I wrote this pattern while travelling around New Zealand. I was inspired by all the Polynesian prints brought to the country by the Maōri. I didn’t know that New Zealand is the largest island in Polynesia!

This pattern works up “tapestry style” so you can either carry the yarn around the back of the project when not in use, or weave it in as you go. Then whack a border round the edge and that will secure the rest of your ends- so minimal sewing in!

I used about half of my three different colour balls of yarn (25g balls). But it all depends on your tension! This pattern is written so you can easily change out the colours for your own.
