Pattern Description from Interweave Knits, Winter 2006:
Knitted in one piece, this fitted vest takes its shape from increases and decreases hidden within the arrangement of stitch patterns. The luxurious yarn, a plush combination of yak and merino, has a good deal of elasticity that lets the piece stretch comfortably where it needs to. The rich textures of this vest can easily handle large buttons. Choose horn or mother-of-pearl buttons for a rustic look.

Finished Size: 30 (35, 40½, 46, 51)” bust circumference, closed

Yarn: Karabella Super Yak (50% yak, 50% merino; 125 yd [114 m]/50 g): #10401 light purple, 5 (6, 7, 8, 9) skeins.

Needles: Size 10 (6 mm): 40” circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Cable needle (cn); markers (m); stitch holders; three 1” buttons; tapestry needle.

This vest is made in one piece and separated at the armholes. The button band and the edgings are added after the vest is knitted.
