Thinking of extending the Handmade Holiday into Valentine’s Day? Whether your feeling particularly romantic or on a bilious rampage, consider saying it with socks before you head to Hallmark.

With this pair, we went a bit mad for embroidery and embellishment -- it turns out that’s the sort of thing we rather go in for. While Emmms’s socks display their image for the world to see, Lou’s upside-down picture is hers and hers alone. To counter this brave new world, the rest of the sock is nice and simple, with an elegant moss rib running down either side of the leg and foot and some rather exciting contrasting heels and toes.

As an added, if unexpected bonus, the decision to embroider our embellishments got us digging through all those piles of leftover sock yarn, which provided almost as much fun as designing the image!

The delicious Malabrigo yarn in Aubergine was supplied to us by the lovely Alice from Socktopus who’s shop in Chelsea Harbour (and online) is a haven for all who love the knitting craft.

She stocks the most amazing yarns from all over the world including some of our absolute favourties like Indigo Moon, Hazel Knits and Handmaiden as well as books, tools and roving too!

‘PS, I Love You’ is the sixth pattern to be released under the Loumms Year of Socks.
