This hat idea came to me from the construction of the yarn: soft and springy and full of form.

The hat is very stretchy, and fits a variety of head sizes. The soft ribbing flows smoothly into a ribbed-look slipped-stitch pattern. A multiple yarn pompom completes the look by being a flirty textured topper (optional).

Requires two balls Debbie Bliss Rialto chunky, and one ball (or partial ball) each of a mohair and aran yarns, for example Galway worsted by Plymouth Yarn and Mohair by Louet, a 9US/5.5mm 16in circular needle, a 10.5US/5.5mm circular needle, and 10.5US/5.5mm dpn set, along with cardboard for making a pompom, and yarn needles for weaving in ends.
