Pula, in Setswana, literally means “rain” and for the people of Botswana it symbolizes peace, happiness and abundance of life. Thus is the inspiration for my Pula! Pula! cowl. Yarn overs and knit stitches create the illusion of raindrops on a reverse stockinette background and give the cowl texture and interest. Enjoy and may peace and happiness be with you!

This pattern is worked in a light DK weight yarn and knit in the round on US size 6 circular needles. It is knit from the bottom up with the wrong side facing so as to reduce the amount of purling required.

Skills Required: casting on and binding off, knitting in the round, knit and purl stitches, yarn overs and purling two stitches together.

Finished Measurements: Laying flat: Approximately 9.5in (24cm) tall, 11.5in (29cm) wide.
