The Purl Twist Knot stitch has been around a long time. I know this because I used it to make a special sweater for a much loved and respected high school Biology teacher back in 1963 and my grandmother passed this stitch down to me from Who Knows When. It’s an easy stitch that makes a beautiful textured fabric.

My design is easy too! You can knit up a slouchy hat like I did or knit it a bit shorter and make a closer fit beanie.

If you can cast on, knit, purl, bind off and knit in the round, you should find this an easy and quick knit.
