PussyMitts is a fingerless mitts pattern, and it coordinates with the PussySocks (free with code: women) pattern I recently published. To those who marched in support of women’s rights, as well as civil rights for all, we applaud and thank you. This grassroots movement, as it takes shape, is a reflection of our democracy in action. And it gives us hope. The mitts, like the socks, can be knit stranded or they can be knit all pink, if the knitter desires. I recommend using a machine washable wool, like Knit Picks Stroll Sock yarn or Cascade Heritage Solids. Make your pussy faces black, or white, or a paler shade of pink. The mitts are stranded, so you achieve double the warmth of a single strand of yarn without adding bulk. The pattern includes instructions for my signature now-you-see-it, now-you-don’t secret pocket, great for storing cash, key, tissues or metro card. Layer over gloves, as shown, to keep those texting fingers warm. And when the top cuff is folded down, the pocket opening is completely hidden. See useful information at the end of the pattern regarding color dominance when stranding.
