Rays of Light Blanket
The Rays of Light Quilt Blanket is a quilt-inspired stashbusting blanket, perfect for using up your scraps and leftovers, handspun, mystery yarns, single skeins, hanks of unknown yardage, strangely variegated yarns, etc. The pattern is designed to be knit on straight needles with a minimal number of stitches on the needles at all times, and is easy to pick up and set down: great for working on the go or in a distracting setting. Both sides of the pattern are pleasing, and I love the featured contrasting seams. The fisherman’s rib border is extra-squishy, particularly when worked in a slightly heavier weight yarn. I hope you will find this pattern to be a practical and delightful stashbuster, and I hope you will love knitting it the way I do!
As this is a stash-busting pattern, it can be easily adapted to the yarn amount and weight available. Pattern includes notes regarding adaptations for fingering weight yarn, as well as suggestions for blanket sizes from carseat/lap blanket through king size blanket.
Techniques Used: basic crochet skills, slip stitches, provisional crochet cast on, short row corners, grafting in pattern. Video tutorials are provided throughout the pattern.
