My “Save What You Love” shawl is a visual illustration of how our favorite science fiction universe treats the concepts of light, dark, and balance. The shawl explores how “light” and “dark, “good” and “bad” are just spectrums of a balanced whole.

The project is a quick, satisfying knit. Interst comes from the unique construction and interplay of colors, yet you can still focus on rewatching your favorite Star Wars movie for the (tenth) time while knitting.

(Of course, if you want to knit this in a non-Star Wars theme, that’s okay too!)

“Light. Darkness. A balance.” – Rey, The Last Jedi
“Darkness rises and light to meet it.” – Snoke, The Last Jedi
“That’s how we’re gonna win. Not fighting what we hate. Saving what we love.” – Rose Tico, The Last Jedi
