The two-color stranded colorwork in this hat and scarf set is based on a bit of wrought iron seen in a 1983 episode of Simon & Simon entitled “Red Dog Blues.” Lattice and diamond bands are interspersed with sections of solid stockinette. Instructions are included for sewing a heatable scarf insert to keep you warm on the coldest days. Depending on the colors used, the design is appropriate for men, women, or children. The scarf includes two sizes - child and adult.

The hat is worked in the round from the bottom up. The only skills you need are knit and purl, and following a colorwork pattern. The colorwork pattern is provided in charted form only.
