The idea for this sweater has been floating around in my head for a while now, and once I started knitting it I was hooked.

This sweater features unique construction, minimal finishing, and a customizable fit. It is started with the sleeves and back being worked in one piece. The body is then picked up and knit down. Because of the way it’s worked, it is inherently easy to custom fit to any body with a few simple measurements as guidelines.

Please read through the entire pattern before beginning to ensure you have a complete understanding of how the sweater will come together. The pattern contains all the formulas and tips you’ll need to get a great fitting sweater!

25 stitches & 30 rows to 4 inches, in stockinette, on size 3 needles.
20 stitches & 30 rows to 4 inches, in stockinette, on size 7 needles

The yardage will depend greatly on your sizing. Because everyone is shaped differently there is no real way to predict the amount of yarn you’ll need. I recommend having around 1200 yards on hand in you are making up to chest size 32. Around 1500 yards on hand for chest size up to 40. And around 1800 yards on hand for larger chest sizes.

For the sleeves and back - there is no change in the instructions, but the stitch count is off after your total increases. It should read as follows:

Continue working increases every eighth row for a total of 12 increases rows.

For sizes up to 34 stitch count = 78 stitches.
For sizes up to 40 stitch count = 82 stitches.
For sizes up to 50 stitch count = 86 stitches.
For sizes up to 60 stitch count = 90 stitches.
