This hat combines brioche knitting, double knitting and cabling. It is knitted in two contrasting colours and is completely reversible, with cables on one side and a funny ladder structure on the other. It can come in two style options: beanie and slouch and in two sizes: medium and large.
The hat is a good opportunity to practice brioche stitch or to learn it. It is possible for a beginner at brioche to complete the hat, you will just need some more time to master the stitch. Some of my testers were complete beginners and just look what wondreful hats they have knitted!!!
Video tutorials for beginners at brioche are provided.

Level: adventurous beginner with an internet access and motivation to learn new things or intermediate familiar with brioche. The hat is knit in the round. The pattern uses long-tail tubular cast on, brioche stitch, double knitting and cabling.

Size: medium 21 ½ in / 54cm, large 23in / 59cm

Gauge: 20 sts on larger size needles in stockinette = 4in / 10cm. I am a loose knitter so you may need to go up some needle size to obtain the gauge.

Needles: US 2 ½ - 3mm and US 6 – 4mm circular. If you don’t like the magic loop method, smaller size DPNs. You will also need two cable needles, a stitch marker and tapestry needle for weaving ends.

Yarn suggested: Any worsted weight yarn that gets the gauge. Some of my testers used aran and the hats turned out OK as well. For beanie version about 35g of both colours and for the slouch version - 40g of both colours.
