This hat and earband use the Ridge & Furrow motif, a series of knits and purls that mimic the pattern an old fashioned hand plow makes in the ground before planting. My husband grew up on a farm so this one is a natural for me!

The pattern is simple, but striking, easy to remember. The Hat also includes an optional Vikkel Braid. A chance to learn a simple one-row sideways braid. Don’t want to learn it? Leave it out.

Any worsted weight yarn will work, but choose one that has good stitch definition, like the Frogtree Pediboo used in the photos.

Please note, the Earband uses a US SIZE 4 needle for a tighter fabric and has a gauge of 23 sts to 4 inches. Length is custom sizable but 3 suggested lengths are provided.

Color changes everything, though the hat is shown in pink, it is a unisex hat.

Enjoy and Happy Knitting.
