This pattern was originally written for DK weight yarn, but it has been test knitted in worsted, sport and fingering weights as well. Required yardage and recommended needle sizes for all weights are as follows:

Worsted: 475-525 yards; US9/5.5mm
DK: 400-450 yards; US 5/3.75 mm
Sport: 350-400 yards; US4/3.5mm
Fingering: 325-350 yards; US3/3.25mm

Finished sizes of the shawl for the various yarn weights are approximately:

Worsted weight – 55” wingspan; 24” center
DK weight – 54” wingspan; 20” center
Sport weight – 52” wingspan; 19” center
Fingering weight – 45” wingspan; 17” center
