Riverstone is a simple rib sweater which uses a novel construction method to give you a fun knitting experience and a lovely sweater which will see your child through more than a few growth spurts.

10/10/2010 Please note: this pattern has been re-written and the neckline has been redesigned, the neckline is no longer so wide and has 1 button at the back instead of 4 at the shoulders, there are no longer shoulder openings, all previous purchasers have been notified of the update.

Sizes: newborn, 6 mths, 12 mths, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 years

Yarn: Fleece Artist Africa felted wool single
108 yards (99 meters)
90 grams (3.17 ounces)

Buttons: 1 x 2cm (.8 inch) for neck
4 (4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 7, 7) x 2cm (.8 inch) for side band.
Needles: 6mm (US 10) = 1 x 80cm (30 inch) for sizes up to 2 years or 1 x 100cm (40 inch) circular needles (you will be using this straight throughout)
1 stitch holder, 4 stitch markers, crochet hook – 4 mm (G, 6 US)

Gauge: 20 sts x 22 rows 2 x2 rib blocked to a pleasing width 10cm (4 inch) square.

Note from the designer:
a lofty wool based yarn will give the best results
