I developed this design to match the Roads End Sweater by Kay Hopkins, but of course it works equally well on its own. You can choose to use one, two or three colours from your worsted or aran weight yarn stash.

The hat features the simple slipped-stitch “lattice” textured pattern from the Roads End Sweater, which is also used in the Sunriver Cowl pattern by Kay Hopkins. The lattice stitch is charted.

Although written for a medium adult size, the hat circumference can be adapted by casting on enough stitches for more or fewer repeats of the pattern; the hat depth is easily customisable by adding or removing rounds between the decrease rounds.

The blue, green and yellow sample was knitted in Malabrigo Worsted. The purple and cream sample was knitted in Hayfield Bonus Aran.
