Ornate, intricate, elaborate and stunning—words that describe both Rococo art (18th century) and the lace motif that runs down the front of these socks. In addition to being absolutely beautiful, the lace motifs used here are repetitive enough to be easily read and memorized, making these socks look far more complex than they actually are. I recommend a lightly speckled or tonal colorway for this pattern—too much contrast or variegation may make the lace difficult to see.
