The Rose Street Cardigan is a 1940s inspired pattern with a classic cardigan base, i-cord waist tie, and a beginner friendly lace stitch sleeve! I wanted to stick with some of the classic 40s cardigan elements, like a vertical rib stitch button band (it’s as-you-go too, so no picking up or seaming!), bishop style sleeves, deep V neck shaping, and a ribbed shoulder detail that really helps to get a great fit at the top.

This cardigan is knit flat in one piece, and the sleeves are knit separately in the round and set into the garment. Squid’s School of Vintage Knitting also provides a video tutorial for how to set in sleeves!

Like all Squid School garments, this pattern uses a body measurement x gauge system of pattern writing, which makes it 100% size inclusive and tailored to your personal measurements!
