Rotten Rafters?! What kind of name is that for a cowl? It’s a fun one! It’s fun to say “I’m knitting Rotten Rafters.” while keeping a serious face. At first I couldn’t figure out what to name this super fun, easy and sassy chevron cowl. A little research led me to the Old French meaning of chevron which referred to “a pair of angled roof rafters”. Enough about that! I love old barns with their “rotten rafters.”

A fun to knit cowl suitable for beginners with an appetite for a little adventure and varied enough for knitters of intermediate and advanced skill levels. A shawl pin completes the look and holds up Rotten Rafters!

Rotten Rafters is approximately 39” by 11” after blocking.
