Rouge | Noir is an elegant long and narrow lightweight neckpiece designed to showcase that beautiful single skein of lace-weight yarn by combining it either with a neutral or an added contrast.

The scarf/shawl combines two colors and two basic stitches in a simple, but stunning way.
The accent edge is in small moss stitch, the triangles are stockinette stitch. The slipped stitch edges and the I-cord finish give a polished look, and knitting sideways makes it easy to adjust the size.

Dimensions:
Length: 190 cm/75 inches (along top-edge
Depth 70 cm/27,5 inches (at widest point)

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • This is more of a ‘recipe’ than a pattern.
  • Adjusting to different yarns weights and/or different amounts of colors is easy but will change the required amounts of yarn.
  • The piece was made to showcase a beautiful single skein of lace-weight silk yarn (color A below) which adds weight to the edge and guarantees a beautiful drape.
  • The yarn used for color B in the prototype is significantly lighter-weight than the yarn used for Color A. This results in a slightly tighter left-hand edge in the small triangle.
