This rustic vest is worked from the bottom up in a stockinette-and-garter texture stitch with a 3-needle bind-off at the shoulders. The front band is worked along with the body, and the arm bands are worked after picking up stitches around the armhole.

There are 2 versions of this pattern in seprate pdfs so you can choose with method you prefer. Version 1 has patterned wrong side rows - for those who hate purling - and knit right side rows. Version 2 has patterned right side rows and purl wrong side rows - easier to read your knitting, Sorry, you can’t have it both ways :)

Aran-weight yarn – see quantity by size in table above (sample was knit in Knit Picks Simply Wool Worsted – 100% eco wool)
US 8/5 mm needles or size needed to obtain gauge. You will also need needles for your preferred
method of working small circumferences to work the trim around the armholes
Stitch markers (including 4 locking markers)
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Blocking supplies
