I dreamt a little dream… I wanted a simple, top down, set in sleeve, basic tee pattern, a work horse sweater, that I could create and morph into many variations.

This pattern is designed and written for you to make it your own. If you knit it in its most basic form, it is a stockinette stitch, basic fitted crewneck in a solid color. But really, there’s nothing stopping you from creating the tee of your own dreams, whether it is striped, has a button placket or is plain crewneck, color blocked, tipped…you choose!

This is a fitted layering tee pattern designed with +/- 1-2”/2-5cm positive or negative ease, depending on the fit you like.

Sizes available: 32 (36, 40, 44, 48) (52, 56, 60, 64)” / 81 (91, 101, 112, 122) (132, 142, 152, 162) cm

Sport weight yarn, yardages by size as follows (for long sleeves): 865 (960, 1050, 1150, 1275) (1400, 1560, 1720, 1890) yds/ 790 (878, 960, 1050, 1165) (1280, 1426, 1573, 1728) m

If you decide to make tipped, you will need a small amount of contrasting yarn.

If you decide to stripe or color block, yardage may be broken up between two or more colors.

Gauge: 20 sts & 30 rows = 4” in rib stitch pattern on US size 5/ 3.75mm needle.

Choose the rib stitch you like, or another texture, even stockinette stitch will work!

Additional materials: Stitch markers, 3 small buttons for Henley version, scrap yarn or stitch holders to hold live stitches.
