A simple knitting pattern that uses contrasting colors of worsted or aran weight yarn to create a striped garter stitch long loop cowl. As written, the cowl is knitted in the round. If you dislike purling, you could choose to knit the cowl flat and seam together the short ends.

Materials:
Yarn: Worsted or Aran weight: less than 100
grams each of MC and CC. It’s possible to knit 2 cowls, one slightly smaller (reversing MC and CC), with just one 100 gram skein each of MC and CC.

US 9 / 5.5mm circular needles for knitting in the round. 24-32 inches long.

Notions:
1 stitch marker
Darning needle

Notes:
Finished measurements: 5.5 inches wide with a
circumference of 44 inches. Easily adaptable to a wider width by knitting more stripes. As written, the cowl comfortably may be doubled around the neck.
