The pattern is written as colour charts and written instructions. There are 6 one shade squares, some using techniques such as cabling and twisted stitches, and 6 “picture” squares. You will need to be able to do intarsia and stranded knitting for these. The blanket is knitted from the bottom up in strips. There is no need to cast off each square. The strips are then sewn together. The edging is knitted separately and sewn on to the blanket. This blanket is constructed in the same way as my other baby blanket designs, each square has the same number of stitches and rows.

The yarn I use for all the baby blankets in the range is Rowan Cotton Glace, a sport weight or lightweight double knitting 100% cotton yarn which is durable and washes well.

The instructions are for three sizes: small 45cm x 60cm (18in x 24in); medium 60cm x 75cm (24in x 30in); large 75cm x 75cm (30in x 30in).
