Saint Olav Hat/ Hatt
This hat can be knit with one long circular
needle using magic loop or a circular and double
pointed needles.
The pattern matches both of my Saint Olav
sweaters and the Norsk Shield Mittens.
Complete instructions are included in English
and Norwegian with both symbol and colored charts.
It tells the saga of King Olav II who became Saint Olav,
the patron Saint of Norway. My carpenter (reluctant model)
definitely wanted to walk away with it!
This hat can be made with 1 ball of each 2 main colors
and just a scrap of the others.
Can be made larger easily with larger needles, sizes
included in pattern.
