Sundara created this amazing colour she named ‘The Great Pacific’, and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to design for it. This pattern was initially offered as part of a kit exclusively to subscribers of Sundara’s Yarn Lovers Luxury Yarn and Pattern Collection. You can now purchase it here, and combine it with the yarn of your choice (although I highly recommend Sundara’s Silky Merino - it is a dream to knit and wear!)

The design was inspired by the gorgeous colour of the yarn and the images evoked by its name. The pattern involves orderly, repeating elements, much like the formation of salt crystals. It also reminds me of all things nautical, like sail cloths and sailor stripes, which I can never seem to get enough of.
