The vest uses a cabled pattern in the lower body that grows organically into the beginning of the v-neck. Then the ribbing is continued to the shoulder.
The sweater is worked the same as the vest but has long tapered sleeves with the same ribbing as the upper body part.

The vest is worked from the bottom up in the round, then divided for back and fronts. The shoulders of back and front are joined using the 3-Needle BO. The front neckline is worked with the fronts, so just weave in your in ends – and you can wear your new vest.

The sweater sleeves are worked by picking up sts around the armhole, then working the sleeve cap using short rows. The sleeve is worked in the round to the cuff with decreases along the middle of the sleeve – no seaming at all.

Directions for the cable pattern on the lower body are provided as written text and charts.
