Often people ask designers what inspired them to create a piece. In this case, what inspired me was finding 3 skeins of SWTC’s gorgeous Yang metallic sequin yarn for sale at my local yarn store! Since they only had 3 skeins left, I was inspired to make those skeins go a long way. Hence, my Saucy Spanish Lace Shawlette.

This is an EASY knit. Really! The lace pattern involves NO PURL STITCHES at all and yes yes, you may have noticed there are short rows, BUT you don’t have to bother wrapping the stitches every time you turn the row!

So with purl stitches on the stockinette stitch section only and no stitch wrapping (which let’s be honest, confuses many new knitters), I think I came up with a fun, fabulous and easy knit for my beginner knitters and the rest of you too.

As with all my designs, I’m always available to help you as you work up the project. I want you have fun and end up with a shawlette that’s the envy of everybody in your world.
