Based on the novel Insurgent by Veronic Roth (book two of the Divergent trilogy).

Divergent takes place in a dystopian future Chicago where citizens are divided into five factions, each one focused on cultivating a different personality trait. Decades after the society had been set up, it begins to crumble.

The cowl begins in the round, with columns of uniform size, but splits to be worked flat. From that point, the columns diminish in size, echoing the fall of the society.
