It is called “Holiday Stocking” at the Interweave Online Store.

Pattern calls for any 2-ply jumper (fingering) weight yarn (Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift was used in the pattern) in the following colors/amounts: Crimson (450 yds), Pine Forest (300 yds), Yellow Ochre (150 yds)

Original 1999 version called for Alice Starmore Scottish Campion yarn at the same gauge.

Pattern Description from Interweave Online Store:
This finely knitted cuffed stocking, which combines several different Scandinavian-inspired motifs, is so visually appealing you may want to display it year-round. Make it in the traditional shades of red, green, and gold or in one of the nontraditional color combinations featured in the swatch.

Finished Size: About 7½“ (19 cm) wide and 20” (51 cm) long.

Yarn: Alice Starmore Scottish Campion (100% Shetland wool; 150 yd [137 m]/oz): #525 crimson, 3 skeins; #292 pine forest, 2 skeins; #230 ginger, 1 skein. Swatch is worked (from top to bottom) with #730 true navy, #750 Aegean, #289 old gold; #230 ginger, #1290 damson, #585 raspberry; #815 dark olive, #585 raspberry, #365 chartreuse.

Yarn weight: #1 - Super Fine

Gauge:

  • 34 sts and 40 rows = 4” (10 cm) in color patt on larger needle
  • 34 sts and 46 rows = 4” (10 cm) in St st on smaller needle.

Needles:

  • Size 2 (2.5 mm): 16” (40-cm) circular (cir)
  • size 0 (2.0 mm): 16” (40-cm) cir and set of 5 double-pointed (dpn).
  • Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m); tapestry needle.
