I knit these socks almost entirely in 20 minute increments while waiting in the pick-up line at my kids’ school. This pattern has magical powers to keep you calm while other parents do ridiculously dense things like drive the wrong way down the street, encourage their 5 year old to cross multiple lanes of traffic all alone, and block dozens of other cars by getting out of their running mini-van in the middle of the line.

This is a unisex cuff-down sock with a simple knit/purl pattern that is easy to memorize, making this a great project to knit on the go. Both written directions and charts are provided.

Sizes: Small (Medium, Large) for leg/foot circumference of 7.5 (8.5, 9.5)” or 19 (21.5, 24)cm.

Gauge in stockinette: 32 sts over 4” (10 cm) or 8 sts per inch.

Skill Level: Adventurous beginner or intermediate. If you’ve already knit plain socks, this is a great next step.

Yarn: 300—450 yds (320—410 m) fingering weight yarn.
