A slouchy, lacy, cabled beanie hat. Less than 2 balls of yarn, designed to fit both a child and an adult.

“Following this season’s trend for cables and lace, this oversized beanie hat is sure to become a wardrobe staple. Worked in 100% British wool in a chunky weight and with large needles, it works up deceptively quickly.” - Jo Storie

Sizes available - to fit head circumference:
Child - 45.5cm (18in)
Adult - 50.5cm (20in)

Knitted measurements approx:
Circumference at rib approx:
Child - 40cm (15¾in)
Adult - 44cm (17¼in)

Height approx:
Child - 27cm (10¾in)
Adult - 29cm (11½in)

Skills required
You will need to be able to work a simple cable with lace and pick up and work a 2x2 rib. This hat could not be easier in its construction. It is worked as a rectangle which is drawn in at the top with a ribbed hem added. There are no shapings, the combination of stitches worked to the correct tension lend themselves to this slouchy beanie design.

• One pair of straight 8mm needles (US 11)
• a 6mm circular needle
• a cable needle and a tapestry needle for sewing.

Child size - 1.5 balls / 150g (165m / 180yds)
Adult size - 1.5 balls / 150g (165m / 180yds)
