This shawl begins with a garter tab at the neck. Stitches are increased at the beginning and end of each row to create the crescent shape. Garter stitch bands alternate with lace panels making for an interesting knit. Lace panels are chart only.

I chose this lightweight Merino and cotton for its delicate shading and interesting texture. The combination of fibers works well for a shawl giving it a nice drape - perfect for a summer evening walk on the beach. This shawl could be knit up successfully in a number of yarns. Thinner or thicker yarns will yield a smaller or larger finished measurement. (Note: a thicker yarn will require additional yardage to knit the shawl as designed. I would love to see what you have knit it with!
