The seed stitch heart design on these socks is simple to follow, and the combination of wool and silk ensures that your feet will be warm and your socks long-lasting. The yarn is one of many varieties hand-dyed by the talented Julie Packard right in the back room of her shop Island Wools, here on San Juan Island, Washington, where I am so very lucky to live. If you ever visit the island, you can find her shop filled with tempting yarns right at the ferry landing.

The pattern includes complete instructions for my Sweet Tomato Heel.

Sizes: woman’s sm/med (woman’s lg; man’s med, lg). Finished circumference: 7- 71/2 (8; 9, 10)“ or 18-19 (20; 23, 25) cm. To allow for stretch, these measurements are about 15% smaller than actual circumference just above ball of foot.
