In this pattern you can find two hat versions worked in the same stitch pattern: The Seersucker stitch pattern, which is the main star of these hats. It not only shines in a small project like a hat, but also provides texture and warmth, through its squishy fabric worked over the whole body.

Both patterns of this PDF have been written in a separate, stand-alone format, so that you can print each out and use it individually. But since the stitch counts of both versions have been kept the same to allow for mixing the sections up, you can do so if you wish and use elements from both to work a personalised version.

★ About the beginner-friendly Gathered Crown version (the Muenster Hat) with a two-coloured Brim, shown here in grey and light brown:
This beginner-friendly HAT is very quick to work up and a project that doesn’t need too much concentration or knowledge.
This version features a Gathered Crown, which is worked with rapid decreases at the very end. This kind of construction is much easier to knit up than more elaborate crowns, that are started earlier on the body.
A narrow, two-color section in stocking stitch between the ribbing and body both provides an element of interest to the overall design, and masks simple increases that are worked all around for this version which break up the ribbing texture from the main stitch pattern.

☆ About the slightly more elaborate Pointy Crown version (the Sardegna Hat) all in one colour, shown here in a deep salmon colour.
This reversible HAT is very quick to work up and even easier to wear, since it can be worn on both right or wrong side.
This version features a Pointy Crown, which is worked with decreases that have been calculated and written in detail for each size, so as to not disrupt the continuation of the main stitch pattern.
The long Brim can be worn folded up for a fitted look or kept unfolded for a slouchy style.
To not break up the continuation of the ribbing to the main stitch pattern, the increases from Brim to Body have been worked with sets of 2 lifted increases positioned next to each other. This allows the ribbing to flow seamlessly into the stitch pattern of the Body.
