Call it what you want, the Sherlock Holmes hat or the deerstalker hat, there is no doubt, this hat is awesome!

A deerstalker is a type of cap that is typically worn in rural areas, often for hunting, especially deer stalking. Because of the cap’s popular association with Sherlock Holmes, it has become a popular accessory for everyone.

The design combines great, timeless style with utilitarian aspects:
Ear-flaps that can be worn up or down, depending on the preference of the wearer, or the weather. The front visor, with it’s stiff middle layer protects the eyes from sun and glare, while the matching flap at the back protects the neck from cold or exposure to sun.

For a warm weather version, just use a cotton yarn, and you have a perfect sun hat.

My pattern comes in sizes to fit all the family;
