This is not a complete pattern. Rather it is an alternate way of working toe decreases, intended to be substituted into other sock patterns.

These instructions tell you how to work your toe shaping along one edge only. The result is a great fitting pair of socks with a specific left and right. It’s perfect for people whose big toe is their longest toe. It has the added advantage that the sock doesn’t twist when worn, keeping any patterning running straight down the instep where it belongs.

Photo 1 shows Shapely Toes on a basic ribbed sock. See how nicely the shaping matches the actual line of my toes?

Currently written for top-down socks only but a toe-up version is coming. Watch this space!
