This hat is a tribute to the late, great Sir Terry Pratchett’s last book, The Shepherd’s Crown. A Shepherd’s Crown is a real thing, a type of fossil(sea urchin). So the hat picks out the shape of a shepherd’s crown on top while around the brim is a little pattern of peaks like a coronet.
I made it firstly to fit myself so the size is regular adult(8 3/4” wide x 8 3/4” high) If you wanted to go bigger or smaller just add/delete stitches in lots of 8, or change to a lighter gauge yarn and smaller hook(do a sample to check gauge first)
I used a single 50g ball of yarn for this hat.
